Most APG visitors fly into BWI and need to be at a meeting near the MD-22 or MD-715 gate the same day. We track the inbound flight, meet the traveler at the arrivals curb or inside baggage claim with a name sign, and drive I-95 north to exit 85. Please note that installation access is controlled by the Army: visitors without a DoD credential normally clear the visitor center first, so tell us in advance whether your drop-off is on post, at the visitor center or at one of the contractor offices and hotels clustered along MD-22 and US-40 outside the gate. We plan the pickup time around that step rather than discovering it at the barrier.
Ripken Stadium and tournament weeks
The ballpark complex just off I-95 is home to the Aberdeen IronBirds and to the Ripken Experience youth fields, which fill area hotels through the summer tournament season. Teams typically arrive in waves at BWI or PHL with equipment bags that do not fit a standard rideshare. A 14-passenger Sprinter, or a Sprinter plus a Suburban for gear, moves a squad and its coaches in one trip. Getting to the airport from Aberdeen
To BWI the route is I-95 south through one of the Baltimore harbor tunnels and I-195 to the terminal, roughly 50 to 70 minutes depending on traffic. To Philadelphia International it is I-95 north over the Tydings Bridge and through Delaware, generally 70 to 90 minutes. Rail travelers can also book a short transfer from the Aberdeen station, which is served by Amtrak and the MARC Penn Line, to hotels, APG or homes in Perryman, Riverside and Belcamp.
